It’s drawtober time✨ and this was my first topic: Stones and gemstones! I recently re-discovered my stone+gemstone collection from my youth (there I was a time I thought about becoming a geologist) and I admire it so much when artists can draw stones, gemstones, crystals, geological formations…so I practiced! 🙂
Stone 1, starting with the most used stone on my drawing table (as paperweight) because it’s heavy and a little bit shinyStone 2, Feuerstein mit Kreidekruste / Flintstone with chalk crust (very common at the Baltic Sea, sometimes with a hole in it)Stone 3, looks for me like a variant of quartzite with glassy and grainy surface areasStone 4, Feuerstein / flintstoneStone 5Stone 6, Alkalifeldspatgranit mit sehr deutlichem, rotem Kalifeldspat / Alkali feldspar granite with prominent red potassium feldsparStone 7, Orangencalcit / Orange CalciteStone 8, looks like Kalkspat mit Silbererzen / Calcite with silver ore? But I am really not sure if this is correctStone 9, could be some kind of light grey slateStone 10, always looked to me like Amethyst but is definitely more likely purple Fluorapatite from area Greifensteine (gift by my grandfather)
